The Dallas Cowboys entered Thursday’s practice session with a growing list of injuries as they prepare for their Week 6 road matchup against the Carolina Panthers. After five players missed practice on Wednesday, that number jumped to eight on Thursday, with nine others limited in participation.
Two new names appeared on the report: defensive end Dante Fowler (illness) and quarterback Joe Milton (personal). Neither player was listed on Wednesday, but both missed Thursday’s practice entirely. The Cowboys also added defensive end Sam Williams (shoulder) to the report, though he was able to participate fully.

The offensive side of the ball took a hit as well. Wide receiver Jonathan Mingo (knee) and running back Miles Sanders (knee/ankle) were both downgraded to non-participants after being active the previous day. Mingo, who remains on injured reserve, was a full participant on Wednesday, while Sanders was limited. Their regression in practice status raises questions about their availability heading into the weekend.
There was at least one positive development—safety Donovan Wilson (elbow/knee) returned to limited participation after sitting out entirely on Wednesday. His return offers a bit of relief for a secondary that’s already been dealing with depth issues.

The Cowboys have been battling injuries across several key positions in recent weeks, forcing defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus and head coach Brian Schottenheimer to shuffle rotations. With Micah Parsons now in Green Bay and multiple defensive contributors sidelined, Dallas’ depth will once again be tested.
As the team continues to monitor these situations heading into Friday’s final practice, availability could play a major role in Sunday’s outcome against Carolina—a game that could determine whether the Cowboys climb in the standings or slip further behind in the NFC.
