South Florida men’s basketball is officially back on top of the American Athletic Conference. Behind a scorching performance from Wes Enis and another milestone night from Izaiyah Nelson, the Bulls locked up at least a share of the AAC regular season championship with a 90-62 demolition of Tulane.

For USF basketball, this wasn’t just another win — it was a statement.

The Bulls (21-8, 13-3 AAC) delivered one of their most complete performances of the season, stretching their conference winning streak to seven games and putting themselves one victory away from the outright title and the No. 1 seed in the AAC Tournament. Head coach Bryan Hodgson now has this program sitting atop the league standings for just the second time in school history.

Enis came out firing and never let up. The sharpshooter poured in 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including five triples, pushing him past 250 career made three-pointers. He also set a new program record with 255 3-point attempts this season and now sits at 94 made 3s — just three shy of Tyler Harris’ single-season school record of 97.

While Enis lit it up from deep, Nelson controlled everything else. Nelson posted 14 points, 13 rebounds and a career-high six assists, notching his 18th double-double of the year. The bigger milestone? His 1,000th career rebound. That kind of production explains why USF dominated the glass 43-32 and owned the paint 42-14.

Josh Omojafo joined Nelson in double-double territory with 16 points and 10 rebounds, marking the third time this season the Bulls have had two players reach that benchmark in the same game.

Joseph Pinion quietly continued his own historic run. By knocking down a three for the 29th straight game, Pinion extended the second-longest streak in program history. He now has 95 made threes this season, also within striking distance of the school record.

The numbers are starting to pile up for this USF offense. Saturday marked the program’s 14th 90-point outing of the season — a school record. Through 29 games, the Bulls have scored 2,560 total points, the second-highest single-season total in school history.

Add in an 84% performance at the free-throw line and 18 forced turnovers turned into 20 points, and this looked like a team peaking at the perfect time.

One more win. That’s all that separates USF basketball from claiming the AAC crown outright — and if this version of the Bulls shows up again, it may be a formality.
