Tom Kim fired a closing 64 to win the 2026 Scottish Open by two shots, reviving his PGA Tour career and taking serious momentum into The Open at Royal Birkdale.
Tom Kim is officially dangerous again.
The 24-year-old delivered a nearly flawless final-round 64 Sunday to win the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open, finishing at 17 under and defeating Min Woo Lee by two shots at The Renaissance Club.
Kim’s fourth PGA Tour victory ended a difficult stretch that had pushed one of golf’s former young sensations away from the spotlight. After winning three times during his first two professional seasons, Kim struggled to maintain that blistering pace.

His performance in Scotland offered a forceful reminder that he’s still one of the game’s most gifted young players.
Kim had to survive a marathon on Sunday after fog disrupted Saturday’s schedule. He completed 29 holes during the final day, finishing his third round in the morning before returning for the decisive 18.
Fatigue never became a factor.
Kim entered the final round one shot behind Lee, Matt Fitzpatrick and Robert MacIntyre, then separated himself with elite iron play and a putter that refused to crack under pressure. He made just one bogey over his final 51 holes of the tournament.
His two most important swings came on the demanding par-4 10th and 16th holes. Facing approaches of more than 200 yards into the wind, Kim produced two completely different 4-iron shots—a high fade at No. 10 and a controlled draw at No. 16—to create valuable birdie opportunities.
Kim also buried several uncomfortable putts down the stretch, including a four-footer at the 18th that officially secured the championship while Lee was still playing the final hole.
The victory places Kim in rare company. He became only the fifth internationally born golfer to win four PGA Tour events before turning 25, joining Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama.
His return to contention didn’t begin this week. Kim finished third at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills last month, signaling that his game was beginning to sharpen. His Scottish Open victory confirmed it.
Lee closed with a 67 to finish alone in second at 15 under. Fitzpatrick and MacIntyre tied for third at 13 under, while McIlroy surged into a tie for seventh at 12 under after matching Kim’s final-round 64.
Viktor Hovland also shot 64 and tied for 13th at 9 under. Jon Rahm finished tied for 36th at 4 under, while Scottie Scheffler missed the cut, ending his remarkable streak of 78 consecutive made cuts.

Kim, meanwhile, heads to Royal Birkdale with more than just another trophy.
He has confidence, links-golf form and proof that his early PGA Tour success wasn’t a temporary flash. The rest of golf may have stopped paying attention during his slump.
That mistake won’t be repeated at The Open.
