FRISCO – The Dallas Cowboys went to Mile High on Sunday shorthanded on the back end and left with the same old story in a 44-24 loss to the Denver Broncos. It was more missed tackles, blown leverage, and an offense that couldn’t bail anyone out.
Denver outgained Dallas 426-339, turned chunk plays into points, and cruised while the Cowboys searched for answers that weren’t on the inactives list.
With the secondary taped together, Bo Nix played 7-on-7, going 19-of-29 with 247 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT. He sprayed scores to Troy Franklin (6/82/2), Pat Bryant (2/40/1), and Courtland Sutton (4/67).

On the ground, Denver didn’t need volume to humiliate Dallas. J.K. Dobbins ripped 111 yards on 15 carries, and R.J. Harvey turned 7 rushes into 46 yards with TDs from 40 and 1 yards, then added a 5-yard TD catch for good measure.
The Broncos’ front, with Zach Allen and John Franklin-Myers, kept Dallas uncomfortable and the script predictable.
Dak Prescott never found rhythm, going 19-of-31, for 188 yards and 2 INTs. The one thing that did find the end zone? Garbage time. Backup Joe Milton floated a 35-yard TD to Jalen Tolbert after the outcome was settled. George Pickens (7/78) and CeeDee Lamb (7/74) moved chains but not scoreboards.

Meanwhile, ex-Bronco Javonte Williams managed 13 carries for 41 yards, and yes, two short TDs. It was the kind of empty-calorie production that looks better in the box score than it felt on the field.
Injuries are real. So is accountability. Dallas’ defense couldn’t stop explosives or the run, and the offense handed out possessions like party favors. With the trade deadline looming, the Cowboys can preach “internal answers” all they want. Sunday looked like a team begging for external ones.
