The Giants’ promising rookie running back Cam Skattebo was carted off Sunday after his right foot/ankle bent awkwardly while he extended for a pass, an ugly scene that left teammates visibly shaken and in tears.
Medical staff stabilized the area and placed a large cast on his lower right leg before transporting him to the locker room.

A fourth-round pick out of Arizona State, Skattebo had been one of 2025’s surprise playmakers, bringing burst and big-play juice to a Giants offense short on them. Now, with his rookie season almost certainly over, New York faces a depth crisis in the backfield and a locker room gut-punch.
For Cowboys fans, this is both sobering and consequential.

Dallas will likely see a different Giants ground plan the rest of the way, with more pressure shifted onto their passing game and committee backs. Teammates embraced Skattebo as the cart rolled away, a stark reminder of how quickly a season can turn.
The hope now? A clean surgery, a full rehab, and a return in 2026. Until then, the NFC East just changed shape.
