ARLINGTON – Jerry Jones has seen plenty of embarrassing Dallas Cowboys losses during his nearly four decades as owner. But Sunday’s collapse against the Arizona Cardinals apparently pushed him over the edge.
And television cameras caught the moment.
Following Arizona’s stunning 33-30 overtime victory at AT&T Stadium, Jones was caught on camera pounding his hand in frustration and appearing to scream an expletive from his luxury suite.

Dallas sports reporter Kevin Gray Jr. shared the video on X, describing the Cowboys owner’s reaction as screaming, “SHT, SHT!”

It’s difficult to blame Jones for being furious.
The Cowboys appeared headed toward a comfortable victory after building a 17-3 advantage early in the third quarter. Dallas’ defense had dominated Arizona starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett, forcing turnovers, generating sacks and limiting the Cardinals to just three first-half points.
Then Gardner Minshew entered the game.
And everything fell apart.
The backup quarterback completed 17 of 23 passes for 188 yards and three touchdowns, leading Arizona to four consecutive touchdown drives to close regulation.
Meanwhile, Tyler Allgeier shredded the Dallas defense for 147 rushing yards, including a 63-yard touchdown run.
The Cardinals tied the game with six seconds remaining when Minshew found Michael Wilson for a 13-yard touchdown.
A missed extra point kept Dallas alive, but Arizona kicker Chad Ryland eventually connected on a 42-yard field goal in overtime to complete the comeback.
Jones’ frustration continued during his postgame comments, when he acknowledged that the defeat reflected poorly on the entire organization.
“It’s an indictment of the whole show,” Jones said.
Despite his obvious anger, Jones stopped short of suggesting that head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s job was in jeopardy.
The Cowboys owner indicated he wasn’t considering coaching changes, instead spreading responsibility for the loss throughout the organization.
That includes a defense that allowed just three points in the opening half before surrendering 27 after halftime.
Dallas fell to 3-5, wasting an opportunity to build momentum following last week’s victory over Philadelphia.

The Cowboys have spent much of the season preaching accountability, improved execution and finishing games.
Sunday, they failed spectacularly at all three.
And while Jones’ profane reaction has attracted plenty of attention, the bigger question isn’t why the owner was angry.
It’s what he’s prepared to do about a team that keeps finding new ways to lose.
For a frustrated Cowboys fan base, screaming at another devastating defeat probably sounds all too familiar.
