Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick survived a wild Sunday at TPC Louisiana, birdieing the 72nd hole to win the Zurich Classic at 31-under.

Matt Fitzpatrick is on a heater, and this time he brought family with him.

Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick won the Zurich Classic on Sunday, turning the PGA Tour’s only team event into a brotherly gut-check at TPC Louisiana. The English duo finished at 31-under after Alex tapped in the winning birdie on the final hole, beating Kristoffer Reitan and Kris Ventura, plus Alex Smalley and Hayden Springer, by one shot.

For Matt, this was win No. 3 on the season and his second straight victory after last week’s RBC Heritage. For Alex, it was much bigger than a trophy photo. The win gives him full PGA Tour status for two years, a place in the remaining 2026 signature events, a PGA Championship invite and a spot in the 2027 Players Championship.

That’s life-changing stuff.

But Sunday got messy. The Fitzpatricks started with a four-shot lead after their record 15-under 57 on Saturday, then watched the field come storming back. Ventura and Reitan threw three eagles on the board, including one at 18, to post 30-under. Smalley and Springer also reached 30-under but were hurt by a three-putt bogey at 17.

Matt and Alex had their own wobble, sliding from 33-under to 30-under during a shaky back nine that included a double bogey at No. 12. The lead was suddenly in danger.

Then came 18. The brothers reached greenside in two on the par-5, and Matt clipped a clutch chip to 14 inches. Alex finished it off, sealing the win and the biggest moment of his career.

The Fitzpatricks didn’t cruise. They survived. And that made the family celebration even better.
