CeeDee Lamb Injury Update: Cowboys WR Could Land on IR After High Ankle Sprain, Likely Out vs Packers

The Dallas Cowboys lost more than the game in Sunday’s 31-14 loss to the Bears in Chicago.

During the humiliating defeat at Soldier Field, Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb went down with an ankle injury. After a brief attempt to return to the game, he left for good, and now, we hear from the boss man himself that it might be a minute before we see him again.

After the game, Lamb apparently didn’t feel too horrible, implying that he stayed out of the game for precautionary reasons.

“This was one of those protect-me-from-myself type of deals,” Lamb said, via Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

But his confidence might’ve been premature.

Late Monday, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones told reporters that the ankle injury might be worse than initially thought, as reported by Adam Schefter.

“Jerry Jones told reporters that CeeDee Lamb’s ankle injury could land him on injured reserve,” Schefter posted.

Sunday’s game was just the second of Lamb’s career in which he failed to make a catch. So far this season, Lamb has 16 catches for 222 yards. Schefter had earlier posted a report from the Cowboys indicating they’d like to evaluate him further before making any decisions.
“Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday’s loss to the Bears that makes him unlikely to play Sunday night vs. the Packers, per sources,” Schefter wrote on X. “The Cowboys want to see how Lamb is doing the next 10-14 days before making further determinations about his status.”

Dallas hosts Green Bay on Sunday Night Football in Week 4, and it appears they’ll be without the services of Lamb.
