The Cleveland Browns touched down in London with a banged-up roster — but there’s a mix of good and not-so-good news coming out of Thursday’s estimated injury report.
Let’s start with the positive: Myles Garrett, Cleveland’s All-Pro pass-rushing menace, was upgraded to limited after being listed as a non-participant on Wednesday. While the Browns only held a walk-through to open their week overseas, it’s a good sign that Garrett — who has 4.0 sacks, a league-best eight tackles for loss, and eight QB hits — is trending in the right direction. Head coach Kevin Stefanski previously labeled Garrett as “day-to-day.”
Two more critical Browns took steps forward. Safety Grant Delpit (back) and tight end David Njoku (knee) were upgraded from limited to full participants, suggesting they’ll be ready to roll when Cleveland takes the international stage. But the injury bug isn’t done biting.
Cornerback Greg Newsome was added to the injury report with a hamstring issue and was limited on Thursday. That’s a late-week development that could impact the secondary’s depth in a big way.
Right tackle Jack Conklin (elbow) remained limited, continuing his slow return from injury, and defensive tackle Mike Hill Jr. (knee) has already been ruled OUT — he didn’t make the trip across the pond.
The Browns and Vikings kick off from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday morning at 9:30 ET on Sunday.
