The Dallas Cowboys got encouraging news on CeeDee Lamb and Joey Porter Jr. ahead of Thursday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both remained full practice participants Tuesday, giving Dallas reason to feel better about two important players after its comeback win over Houston.
Lamb is listed with a thigh injury, while Porter has an ankle issue. Their participation matched Monday’s report. That’s a positive sign on a short week, though full participation isn’t the same as a final game designation.
Lamb And Porter Stay On Track
Dallas needs Lamb’s availability to keep an offense coming off a dramatic finish moving in the right direction. The Cowboys reached 2-2 with their comeback win over Houston, and Thursday offers a chance to build on that result without much time to reset.
Porter’s status matters for a defense still working to settle in. Having him practice fully gives Dallas more flexibility heading into a home matchup with Tampa Bay, which enters the game at 0-4.
The latest report doesn’t clear everybody, however. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown remained out of practice with a hamstring injury. Brian Schottenheimer indicated Tuesday that a Thursday return is unlikely, so the Cowboys can’t count on getting him back for this matchup.
Other Injuries Still Need Watching
Tyler Smith was limited again with his thumb injury. His participation is another item to monitor as Dallas moves toward its final injury report. Cornerback Cobie Durant and offensive lineman Drew Shelton also remained out with hamstring injuries.
Malik Hooker, James Houston, Alijah Clark and Tyler Goodson were listed as full participants Tuesday. That leaves Dallas with a mix of encouraging signs and unresolved availability questions heading into the final stretch of preparation.
Dak Prescott has emphasized being ready despite the quick turnaround. The Cowboys have little practice time between Sunday’s win and Thursday’s kickoff, making preparation and recovery especially valuable for players managing injuries and coaches adjusting their weekly plans.
For now, Lamb and Porter are the clearest pieces of good news. Dallas still has to wait for final designations, but Tuesday’s report kept both moving toward a Thursday night appearance at AT&T Stadium.
