The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and quarterback Baker Mayfield engineered an impressive final drive as time was winding down in the fourth quarter on Monday night to beat the Texans in Houston, 20-19.
Mayfield was once again masterful, completing 25 of 38 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns in the effort, and also scrambling three times for 33 yards. On one of those scrambles early in the fourth quarter, he went down awkwardly and grimaced in pain while grabbing his lower left leg.

The injury apparently didn’t last very long because he jumped up and immediately got into the face of Texans safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson and the two “exchanged words” before being separated by officials and teammates.
Gardner-Johnson was standing over Mayfield in a half-taunt after he went down, and Mayfield took exception to it.
The Bucs quarterback posted a picture of the incident on his Instagram account on Tuesday, prompting a reply from Gardner-Johnson, “boy this cute but still ringless.” On Wednesday, Mayfield was asked about the exchange and any beef he has with C.J.

“We don’t take any shit. That’s about it,” Mayfield said.
Throughout his career, dating back to his college days at Texas Tech and Oklahoma, Baker has never been one to walk away from a fight or verbal confrontation.
That’s part of what has endeared Mayfield to the Tampa Bay fans and his teammates, and he’s cemented himself in the culture of the area. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
