We knew the NFL 2025 season opener in Philadelphia between the Eagles and Dallas Cowboys would be contentious. But, oh my!
During the on-field coin toss, the captains for both teams met at midfield to determine which team would get the ball first. It was Dallas. After the kickoff, while an Eagles player lay on the field injured, Cowboys QB Dak Prescott and Eagles pass rusher Jalen Carter had words between the two huddles ahead of the first play of the game.
Prescott clearly baited Carter upon further review of the video, and spat toward Carter, but it landed on the ground nowhere near Carter. Carter took exception to that and while the two were facemask to facemask, Carter spat on Prescott, with it landing high on Prescott’s jersey. An official was right there and saw the whole thing, and Carter was ejected.
The Eagles lost their best defensive player before the game even kicked off due to a bonehead, immature action that cost his team dearly.

The Cowboys took the opening drive and went 53 yards in six plays and scored a touchdown on a one-yard Javonte Williams run for a 7-0 lead. The Eagles offense answered with their own scoring drive of 70 yards in 10 plays when Jalen Hurts ran the ball in from four yards out to tie the game.
