The 2026 Texas Open brings a loaded field to San Antonio, with Jordan Spieth, Si Woo Kim and Maverick McNealy among the top names to watch before the Masters.
The 2026 Texas Open has turned into one of the most important stops on the PGA Tour calendar, giving several big-name players one last competitive tune-up before the Masters. This week at TPC San Antonio, the spotlight is on Jordan Spieth, Ludvig Åberg, Tommy Fleetwood, Hideki Matsuyama and Russell Henley, with every one of them chasing a first PGA Tour win of the 2026 season.

Collin Morikawa won’t be part of that chase. The world No. 8 pulled out before the tournament as he continues to manage the back issue that flared up at The Players. His absence takes one marquee name out of the field, but it hardly drains the event of star power. With a $9.8 million purse and a course that rewards sharp ball-striking, the Texas Open still looks like one of the strongest pre-Masters tests on the schedule.
TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course, a par-72 layout stretching 7,438 yards, has a way of exposing any weakness. That’s why players like Russell Henley and Si Woo Kim stand out. Kim has been especially intriguing thanks to his elite iron play, ranking fifth on Tour in strokes gained on approach and 16th off the tee. If the putter cooperates, he’s got the profile of a serious contender.

Johnny’s Winning Picks leans into that value. In the Winners category, the card features Si Woo Kim at 22-1, Maverick McNealy at 26-1 and Sepp Straka at 30-1. The Ham Sandwich longshot is Mackenzie Hughes at 82-1. For placement bets, Johnny’s Winning Picks lists Jordan Spieth +240 and Robert MacIntyre +260 for Top 10, with Alex Noren +180 and Eric Cole +375 for Top 20.

There’s plenty of pressure on this field, too. For some, this is about momentum heading to Augusta. For others, it’s one last chance to break through before the year’s first major. Either way, San Antonio should deliver a sharp, high-stakes week of golf.
