Texas A&M football finally has its first SEC win of the season, and the Aggies left little doubt about it. KJ Edwards ran for two touchdowns, Marcel Reed supplied another rushing score and Texas A&M beat Arkansas 34-7 Saturday night at Kyle Field to end a two-game losing streak.

Edwards finished with 66 yards on 11 carries. Reed matched that rushing total on nine attempts while completing 13 of 19 passes for 170 yards without an interception. For an offense looking for a response after losses to Kentucky and LSU, the ground game provided a reliable foundation.

The Aggies ran for 231 yards and four touchdowns, controlling the ball for 38 minutes, 8 seconds. Arkansas managed 214 total yards against a Texas A&M defense that kept the Razorbacks off the scoreboard after the first quarter.

Dalton Brooks helped set the tone with an interception and a 39-yard return, giving the Aggies favorable field position for their opening touchdown. Arkansas briefly answered through KJ Jackson’s 26-yard touchdown pass to Chris Marshall, but the Razorbacks couldn’t build on it.

Texas A&M led 14-7 after the first quarter and stretched that margin to 24-7 by halftime. All three of its first-half touchdowns came on the ground, putting Arkansas in the position of having to chase the game.

The Aggies added another touchdown in the third quarter and a field goal in the fourth. David Olano finished 2-for-2 on field goals, with a long of 57 yards, and converted all four extra points.

The final numbers show how thoroughly Texas A&M controlled the matchup. The Aggies outgained Arkansas 401-214, collected 23 first downs and committed no turnovers. They also converted nine of 16 third downs, keeping drives alive and the Razorbacks’ offense waiting on the sideline.

Jackson completed 13 of 25 passes for 111 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Marshall caught seven passes for 76 yards, accounting for much of Arkansas’ limited passing production. The Razorbacks were just 3-for-10 on third down.

Texas A&M improves to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in SEC play, while Arkansas falls to 2-3 and 0-2. The Aggies visit Missouri next Saturday. This win doesn’t erase the earlier conference losses, but it gives them a clear performance to build on: protect the ball, run effectively and let the defense dictate the terms.
