‘Shit’s Embarrassing!’ Browns’ Myles Garrett on 41-17 Loss to Ravens

The Cleveland Browns moved their regular-season record to 0-2 after a 41-17 road loss to the division rival Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

It was still just a few months ago that star defender Myles Garrett requested a trade, citing his desire to “play for a winner,” and he wasn’t sure that was going to happen in Cleveland. It didn’t take long, but he was convinced by GM Andrew Berry to stay, “convinced” with a new contract and a $40 million per year.

Maybe he’s having second thoughts after Sunday’s loss.

“I mean, the shit’s embarrassing,” Garrett said. “We got to be better on defense. We got to be better as a team. They slowly chipped away and we did a solid job, holding them to three when we could, and then eventually the dam broke and they just did whatever they wanted, and we have to continue to play a 60-minute game.”

The score aside, the Browns’ defense wasn’t bad. Running back Derrick Henry was held to just 23 yards on 11 carries as Baltimore gained just 242 total yards on the day, and just 45 on the ground. Lamar Jackson was just 19-of-29 for 225 yards, but it was the four touchdown passes that killed Cleveland.

Joe Flacco was 25-for-45 against his old team for 199 yards with a touchdown and a costly interception, and second-round rookie running back Quinshon Judkins posted 61 yards on 10 carries in his NFL debut.

But Garrett’s not wrong. The Browns will need to figure some things out on both sides of the ball ahead of their matchup with Green Bay next Sunday at home.
