After two rounds of action, Ben Griffin holds a three-shot lead at the Procore Championship even as … look out … Scottie Scheffler is making a move.
The U.S. Ryder Cup team is not dominating like we all thought they should be in their tune-up event at Silverado; however, Griffin played bogey-free golf for the second straight day on Friday with a 6-under 66 to build his lead. Three shots back is Russell Henley, who will be making his Ryder Cup debut in two weeks. U.S. Open champion J.J. Spaun is five shots back after scoring a 68 on Friday.
“I wouldn’t even say my mindset’s been Ryder Cup. I’ve been pretty focused on this golf tournament,” Griffin said. “Without a doubt, off the golf course hanging out with the guys and stuff, there’s been some Ryder Cup presence, but once I get on the first tee, I’m thinking I’m trying to play well here.”

Scheffler scored a few more birdies on Friday than on Thursday and was dealing with control issues off the tee, and ended with a ho-hum 68. The five-time winner this year hasn’t finished worse than eighth since March.
That said, here are PGA of America member and noted golf handicapper, John Gerber’s picks for Saturday’s round. There’s just one, so take advantage. Gerber’s record in matchups in 2025 is a whopping 52-12-5. Tune in to From the Rough here on FanStreamSports.com for a complete recap on Monday at 5pm CT/6pm ET.
Here’s our preview show from Wednesday. Enjoy!
