The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are quietly emerging as one of the NFLâs most resilient teams in 2025. Despite a growing list of injuries â including Mike Evans, Bucky Irving, and offensive line starters â the Bucs delivered an impressive win over the Seattle Seahawks, proving their offensive depth and adaptability under head coach Todd Bowles.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield turned in a statement performance, completing 29 of 33 passes for 379 yards and two touchdowns, adding key scrambles to extend drives. It was a massive bounce-back effort after his first turnover of the season in a tough loss to Philadelphia.

Still, thereâs room for improvement â particularly at tight end. With Ko Kieft sidelined for the season and limited production from the position, the Buccaneers could be in the market for an upgrade.
A recent piece from Pro Football Networkâs Josh Weil floated a blockbuster idea: a trade for Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews. In the proposal, the Bucs would send a 2027 fourth-round pick to Baltimore in exchange for the three-time Pro Bowler.
Andrews, who shares a deep connection with Mayfield from their college days at Oklahoma, would fill an immediate need while providing a proven target in the middle of the field. The chemistry is undeniable â Andrews was even a groomsman at Mayfieldâs wedding â and the move could unlock an entirely new level for the Buccaneersâ already surging offense.
âWith the Ravensâ season not going according to plan and Andrews being on an expiring contract, it would be silly for them not to entertain this deal,â Weil wrote. âTo acquire someone with that sort of connection in a position of desperate need would unlock a whole new level for an already impressive Tampa Bay offense.â

Andrewsâ numbers are down in 2025 (17 catches, 150 yards, 2 touchdowns), but his track record speaks volumes: 453 career receptions, 5,680 yards, and 53 touchdowns, with three Pro Bowls and a First-Team All-Pro nod in 2021.
If the Buccaneers are serious about making a playoff run, a reunion between Mayfield and Andrews could be the move that keeps Tampa Bayâs offense among the NFCâs elite.
