Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has been terrorizing quarterbacks for nine seasons, but 2025 has taken his dominance to an entirely new level. If it feels like he’s rewriting history every Sunday, it’s because he basically is.
Through 14 games, Garrett sits at 21.5 sacks, already the crown jewel of an otherwise turbulent Browns season. The peak of his rampage came in a ridiculous four-game stretch:
-
5 sacks vs. New England
-
1 vs. New York
-
4 vs. Baltimore
-
3 vs. Las Vegas
That’s 13 sacks in four games, numbers that sound more like a hot Madden run than real life.
Former Browns star Josh Cribbs believes Garrett isn’t done climbing the record book this year. On The Top Dawgs Show, Cribbs flat-out predicted that Garrett will break the single-season NFL sack record this week against the Buffalo Bills.
“Y’all think Myles Garrett’s gonna hit his record? I do,” Cribbs said, adding that doing it against a legit playoff team like Buffalo would shut down anyone trying to discount the achievement as stat-padding.
Of course, there’s another possible storyline that would send Browns fans into orbit: Garrett breaking the record against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Doing it against Cleveland’s bitter rival would instantly become one of the defining moments in franchise history, on par with any iconic Dawg Pound memory.
Even if you somehow ignore the record chase, Garrett’s resume is already absurd:
-
He’s the only player in NFL history with 14-plus sacks in four straight seasons.
-
He’s joined an exclusive club with Reggie White, John Randle, DeMarcus Ware, Jared Allen, Bruce Smith, and Lawrence Taylor as the only players to record seven straight 10-sack seasons.
-
He broke Clay Matthews Jr.’s franchise sack record (62.0) back in 2022 and has since doubled it, now sitting at 124.0 career sacks.
We’re not just watching a great Browns defender; we’re watching one of the most dominant pass rushers the league has ever seen, in the middle of his masterpiece season.
Whether the record falls against the Bills, the Steelers, or someone else, one thing is clear: Myles Garrett isn’t just chasing history … he’s bending it in real time, wearing No. 95 and a Browns helmet.
