Miami took the opening kickoff and jumped right into its defense-first game plan. Cornerback Keionte Scott stole the show with a first-half interception for a touchdown that changed the course of the game and swung the momentum in the Hurricanes’ direction.
Scott was all over the Ohio State quarterback, Julian Sayin, and his perfect timing reading the QB’s eyes for the pick was on another level.
Miami’s defensive line continued its pressure on the Ohio State offense with Rueben Bain Jr. at the helm. The Hurricane defensive end was relentless, accumulating a sack and a tackle for loss, which completely halted the Buckeyes’ offensive momentum.
Francis Mauigoa was a brick wall on that right side of the defensive line, stopping multiple Buckeye runs and getting the Miami crowd roaring.
Quarterback Carson Beck shined in his performance, tossing for 138 yards and 1 touchdown and rushing for 23 yards. The redshirt QB looked poised as always, even under the Buckeyes’ heat, and found a way for Miami to stay on top and respond as needed.
Beck was aggressive and smart in finding his receivers to complete key drives.
Miami Hurricanes beat the Ohio State Buckeyes 27-21, once again demonstrating their dominance on the field and why they are among the best in college football.
