The Indiana Hoosiers and the Oregon Ducks face off on January 9th at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. The match between these two will have plenty of entertainment! The two teams play different styles of football, and you will get to see which will outplay the other on the big stage.
Indiana Hoosiers
Offensively, the Hoosiers have Fernando Mendoza as their quarterback. This season’s Heisman Trophy winner is a dual-threat who can both pass and run the ball effectively. Mendoza has thrown for over 2,900 yards and 33 touchdowns while also running for over 240 yards and five rushing touchdowns this season.
He’s been clutch in the red zone and has a high completion percentage, so expect him to be firing on all cylinders come Peach Bowl time.
Indiana’s defense has been a significant reason they are playing in a bowl game in the first place.
Indiana can put pressure on the quarterback and create turnovers. Oregon’s quarterbacks will need to stay focused and on point when playing the Hoosiers.
Oregon Ducks
The Oregon Ducks have a dynamite quarterback in Dante Moore. Moore has passed for over 3,000 yards and 28 touchdowns this season. He has posted an incredible rating this season and will look to play better in the Peach Bowl.
The speed at which Moore can make decisions and get the ball downfield is what sets him apart from others.
Oregon has a great spread system that will allow Moore to make big plays with both his arm and feet. Moore is a dual-threat, and his ability to get around pressure or use his arm makes him a player who could change the game at any moment.
He is a major reason that Oregon has had such a good offense this season.
The Ducks have speed at every offensive position, which can cause problems for the Indiana defense. Oregon also has some big targets on the outside, and that will be a problem if Indiana isn’t ready.
These two teams face off at 7:30 PM EST in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons.
