The latest College Football Playoff rankings arrived Tuesday with minimal movement at the top, but plenty of intrigue as Rivalry Week approaches. Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M, Georgia and Texas Tech held firm in the top five, while Oregon made the week’s only change inside the top 10, climbing to No. 6 after its statement win over USC. Ole Miss slid one spot to No. 7.

CFP chair Hunter Yurachek said the committee had been waiting for the Ducks to deliver a “signature win,” and Oregon’s rising strength of schedule provided that boost. Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Alabama and BYU completed the top 11.

Miami jumped one spot to No. 12, edging ahead of Utah despite the Utes’ 51–47 comeback win over Kansas State. Still, the Hurricanes remain three slots behind Notre Dame after the teams were compared directly in the committee’s evaluation pod alongside Alabama and BYU. “The committee still feels Notre Dame is a complete team,” Yurachek said.

Michigan surged to No. 15 ahead of its clash with top-ranked Ohio State, a game that could reshape the Big Ten race. Other key rivalry matchups loom large: No. 3 Texas A&M visits No. 16 Texas with an SEC Championship berth on the line, and Alabama meets Auburn in the Iron Bowl as both pursue Atlanta.

Off the field, Ole Miss’ postseason outlook could hinge on Lane Kiffin’s future. If the coach departs following the Egg Bowl, the committee could factor his absence into its evaluations, though Yurachek noted they currently lack a “data point” without seeing the Rebels play under new leadership.

If the playoff began today, first-round matchups would include Tulane–Texas Tech, Miami–Oregon, Alabama–Ole Miss and Notre Dame–Oklahoma. The final CFP rankings arrive Dec. 7, with first-round home games scheduled for Dec. 19–20.
