Julian Sayin Slices Badgers as Buckeyes Pitch Second Straight Shutout Statement

No. 1 Ohio State made Saturday look routine, which is the scariest part. Julian Sayin carved up Wisconsin with four touchdown passes, two to Carnell Tate, and the Buckeyes cruised 34-0 at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison to move to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Big Ten.

Ohio State strangled the game in the opening quarter.

Wisconsin won the toss and blinked on 4th and 1 from its own 34, then watched Sean West’s 55-yard punt roll the Buckeyes back to the 11. Sayin answered with an 8 of 8 march capped by a 3rd and 11 dart to Tate for 34 yards, a helmet-popping highlight that set the tone.

Sonny Styles jumped a tipped pass on the next series, Jayden Fielding hit from 38, and Sayin found Tate again on 3rd and 4 for a 17-0 first quarter chokehold.

Sayin was 14 of 15 for 169 yards by the end of the first quarter and finished with four scores, adding a 2-yard strike to Will Kacmarek late in the third and a 13-yard toss to Brandon Inniss in the fourth. Ohio State has won 11 straight, dating to last season’s College Football Playoff run, outscoring foes by an average of 25.8 points over that stretch.

The first seven this season have come by an average of 30.6 points.

The defense remains the loudest flex. Ohio State is allowing just 5.9 points per game, best in the FBS, and turned Wisconsin’s offense into a series of 3-and-outs and empty drives. The Badgers have now been shut out in back-to-back weeks for the first time since 1977 and have dropped five straight by an average of 25.2 points.

They are 0-4 in the Big Ten and staring down a brutal run with Oregon and Indiana still ahead.

Ohio State hits the open week next, then hosts Penn State on November 1. The machine keeps humming, and Sayin looks very comfortable at the controls.
