Ex Aggies OL Kenyon Green Waived by Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are seemingly moving on from former Texas A&M Aggies standout offensive lineman Kenyon Green.

The transaction appeared on the league’s daily announcement sent to media outlets. Philadelphia originally acquired Green in March after trading C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Houston Texans. In May, the Eagles declined his option for 2026 that would’ve paid him $16.685 million.

He was originally waived by Philadelphia on Aug. 26, then signed back to the practice squad two days later before being waived again on Monday. Green has dealt with injury issues since becoming the No. 15 overall pick by the Texans in 2022. He appeared in 15 games with 14 starts and scored the worst of 77 graded guards with a PFF score of 37.7. He allowed 47 QB pressures, four sacks and 12 QB hits. He also committed 12 penalties in his rookie year, tied for the second most in the league.

Before his second season, Green was placed on IR with a shoulder injury that was suffered in the final preseason game and missed the entire year.

Entering Texas A&M in 2019, Green was named the starter at right guard ahead of his freshman season. He started all 13 games and was named to the SEC All-Freshman team. He made the move to left guard for his sophomore campaign and started all nine of the Aggies’ games. He was named a First-Team All-America by Sporting News and the FWAA. He again received First-Team All-America honors as a junior before foregoing his senior year at A&M to enter the NFL Draft in 2022.
