FRISCO – The week is rolling on in Frisco as the Dallas Cowboys get ready for their final home game of the season, hosting the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at AT&T Stadium. On paper, it’s still meaningful football. In reality, the math says otherwise.
Dallas enters Week 16 with just a one percent chance to make the playoffs, yet the team reportedly has no plans to rest starters down the stretch. That decision looks bold to some and reckless to others, especially with the latest injury report.
There was good news Thursday as defensive tackle Quinnen Williams returned to practice in a limited capacity after entering concussion protocol from the Week 15 loss to Minnesota. That’s encouraging, but anytime you’re talking about head injuries, “limited practice” shouldn’t automatically equal “full go Sunday.”

Meanwhile, the injury list remains crowded.
CeeDee Lamb (illness) and DaRon Bland (foot) both missed practice again, part of a 17-player report that paints a pretty clear picture that this roster is beat up. Fullback Hunter Luepke, also in concussion protocol, is showing improvement, but he’s another reminder of how physical the Vikings game really was.
Despite all that, the Cowboys are 2.5-point favorites at home against the Chargers, with a total of 49.5, suggesting oddsmakers still expect Dallas to show up and score. The front office and coaching staff clearly want to finish strong.
Is it really worth pushing key pieces through late-season wear and tear for a one percent shot at the postseason?
Kickoff is set for Sunday at 12 p.m. CT on FOX. We’ll find out then whether the Cowboys are making a final stand… or just risking tomorrow for a season that’s already gone sideways.
