‘Buckeye Bounce Back?’ Marvin Harrison Jr. Turns the Corner After Brutal Drop in Cardinals Loss

by | Oct 2, 2025 | Blog, Ohio

Former Ohio State superstar Marvin Harrison Jr. found himself at the center of criticism heading into Week 4 after a slow start to his rookie NFL season — and things nearly unraveled even further.

Early in the Cardinals’ 23-20 loss to the Seahawks, Harrison let a first-half pass slip through his hands, which ended up as an interception — the kind of moment that could derail a young receiver’s confidence. For many rookies, that’s the start of the spiral.

But not for MHJ.

The 2024 first-round pick responded with six catches in the second half, including a clutch touchdown to tie the game in the fourth quarter. While Arizona couldn’t close it out, the former Buckeyes’ bounce back has flipped the narrative heading into Week 5.

“It was good to see one go through the hoop,” Harrison told the team’s website. “It means a lot to have their support and that they trust me.”

Harrison also credited quarterback Kyler Murray for not just continuing to feed him the ball, but also lifting him up mentally on the sidelines. For Buckeye fans who watched him dominate the Big Ten and make everything look effortless, seeing him fight through adversity at the pro level is a reminder: this kid’s built different.

At Ohio State, Harrison Jr. made the spectacular routine — but the NFL hits different. Through the first three weeks, he struggled to make a consistent impact in the Cardinals’ offense. Now, with Murray starting to trust him more, and with a chip on his shoulder, Harrison looks poised to flip the switch.

His message after the game? Support matters.

“They see the work I put in throughout the week, they know what I’m capable of,” he said.

The Cardinals host the Titans this Sunday, looking to snap a two-game losing skid. If Harrison Jr. can put together a full four quarters of production, it could be the beginning of his long-awaited NFL breakout.

And don’t forget — this Buckeye knows how to shine when the lights are brightest.
