The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free agent defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad after his 11-sack season, looking to replace Logan Hall and boost their pass rush.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may be looking to reinforce their pass rush after losing defensive lineman Logan Hall in free agency. According to multiple reports, the team is signing veteran defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad after a visit on Thursday, signaling interest in adding another experienced edge presence to the defensive front.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the deal is for one year with a maximum value of $6 million.

Muhammad is coming off the best season of his NFL career. The 29-year-old defensive end recorded 11 sacks in 2025 while playing in a rotational role with the Detroit Lions, showing he can generate pressure even without full-time snaps. That production caught the attention of teams around the league and placed him among notable defensive free agents this offseason.
The Buccaneers’ interest makes sense given their current roster situation. With Hall heading to the Houston Texans, Tampa Bay now has an opportunity to bring in a veteran who can contribute immediately while providing depth along the defensive line.
Muhammad’s career path has been a steady climb through several NFL defenses. Before his stint in Detroit, he appeared in 80 games across stops with the New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, and Chicago Bears, establishing himself as a reliable rotational pass rusher. He joined the Lions late in the 2024 season and delivered three sacks in nine games, which helped earn him a larger role the following year.

For Tampa Bay, adding Muhammad is about more than just replacing a departing player. It gives the Buccaneers another experienced defender capable of collapsing pockets and supporting the team’s defensive front as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Muhammad’s recent production suggests he could be a valuable addition for a Bucs team seeking pass-rush help.
