Blue Jackets Trim Roster to 25 Ahead of Preseason Stretch

COLUMBUS, OH — The Columbus Blue Jackets made a significant round of cuts as they continue to shape their roster ahead of the regular season. Club President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Don Waddell announced Sunday that 13 players have been reassigned, reducing the training camp roster to 25 players: 13 forwards, 9 defensemen, and 3 goaltenders.

📦 Roster Moves: Who’s Out

Loaned to Cleveland Monsters (AHL):

  • F Luca Del Bel Belluz

  • F James Malatesta

  • F Max McCue

  • F Luca Pinelli

  • F Jack Williams

  • D Corson Ceulemans

  • D Stanislav Svozil

  • G Nolan Lalonde

These players will continue their development with the Blue Jackets’ AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters, gaining valuable ice time and experience.

Placed on Waivers (for Assignment to Cleveland):

  • F Hudson Fasching

  • F Brendan Gaunce

  • F Mikael Pyyhtia

These players must clear waivers before being officially assigned to the Monsters.

Other Transactions:

  • F Oiva Keskinen was assigned to Tappara (Liiga – Finland)

  • D Brendan Smith was released from his professional tryout contract
