Dak Prescott throws four touchdowns as Dallas beats Washington 37-20, but Jayden Daniels’ left elbow injury becomes the game’s biggest story.

ARLINGTON: The Dallas Cowboys got the bounce-back win they needed Sunday.

But their 37-20 victory over the Washington Commanders at AT&T Stadium was overshadowed by another potentially serious injury to Jayden Daniels.

Daniels was hurt on the final offensive play of the first half with Washington trailing 17-10. Facing third-and-goal from the Dallas 1-yard line with three seconds left, Daniels stumbled after the snap, reached out with his left arm to brace his fall and immediately reacted in pain.

He was attended to on the field, carted to the locker room and ruled out for the second half. The concern is amplified because Daniels dislocated the same left elbow in 2025 and missed three games. Washington had not announced a definitive diagnosis immediately after Sunday’s game.

Before the injury, Daniels had been Washington’s most dangerous offensive player. He completed 11 of 17 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown and rushed seven times for 69 yards. Marcus Mariota replaced him after halftime.

Dallas, meanwhile, took advantage.

Dak Prescott completed 26 of 31 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns without an interception, while CeeDee Lamb dominated Washington’s secondary with eight catches for 153 yards and two scores. Jake Ferguson added four receptions for 43 yards and two touchdowns.

The performance also included a historic milestone for Prescott, who moved past Tony Romo to become the Cowboys’ all-time leader in touchdown passes.

Dallas controlled the scoreboard despite being outgained 389-332. The Cowboys didn’t turn the ball over, converted their scoring opportunities and repeatedly forced Washington to play from behind.

Brandon Aubrey added field goals from 25, 44 and 60 yards, with the 60-yarder stretching Dallas’ advantage to 30-13 early in the fourth quarter.

Mariota gave Washington brief life with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs, Diggs’ second score of the afternoon, but Dallas immediately slammed the door.

Prescott found Lamb for a 24-yard touchdown with 3:14 remaining, finishing the scoring and turning an NFC East game that had stayed competitive into a comfortable Dallas win.
