Nelly Korda leads the defending Americans against Charley Hull and Team Europe as the 2026 Solheim Cup brings another loaded showdown to the Netherlands.
The 2026 Solheim Cup arrives with almost everything the event could want: star power, contrasting rosters, a first-time host country and two captains trying to shape very different teams into a winner.
At Bernardus Golf in the Netherlands, Nelly Korda and the United States will attempt to defend the Cup against a European roster led by Charley Hull, Carlota Ciganda and Leona Maguire.
And on paper, there isn’t much separating them.

Korda gives U.S. captain Angela Stanford the biggest individual name in the competition. The World No. 1 enters her fifth consecutive Solheim Cup with a 10-5-1 career record and four major championships.
But America’s strength goes considerably deeper.
Rose Zhang was untouchable in the 2024 victory, going 4-0-0, while Lauren Coughlin posted a 3-0-1 record in her debut. Megan Khang, Jennifer Kupcho, Allisen Corpuz and Angel Yin add another large dose of match-play experience.
The Americans also arrive with just two rookies, Auston Kim and Lindy Duncan, giving Stanford a roster built heavily around players who already understand Solheim Cup pressure.
Europe has taken a slightly different route.
Captain Anna Nordqvist will lean on experience at the top but has also injected four first-timers into her 12-player team.
Hull makes her eighth appearance carrying a 15-9-3 record, while Ciganda is also playing in the event for the eighth time. Maguire may be Europe’s most dangerous match-play weapon of all, owning an 8-3-1 career record and an unbeaten singles mark.
Then comes the youth movement.
Lottie Woad, one of women’s golf’s fastest-rising stars, makes her Solheim Cup debut alongside Julia López Ramírez, Nastasia Nadaud and Mimi Rhodes. Woad has already climbed into the world’s elite after turning professional in 2025, while Rhodes won three times on the Ladies European Tour during her breakout season.
Europe also has something the Americans won’t: a true home atmosphere.
This is the first Solheim Cup staged in the Netherlands, and Nordqvist’s leadership group includes Dutch vice-captain Anne van Dam.
The larger storyline, however, is simple.
Europe controlled this event from 2019 through 2023, winning twice before retaining the Cup with a tie in Spain. The United States finally snapped that run with a 15½-12½ victory in Virginia in 2024.

Now the Americans have to prove they can win away from home.
Korda and Zhang give Stanford firepower. Hull and Maguire give Europe proven answers.
And with both rosters stacked from top to bottom, the 2026 Solheim Cup looks less like a defense of the trophy and more like a fight for control of women’s team golf.
