It’s a doubleheader Friday, with Tim first talking with Phil Steele about his coveted preseason college football magazine, considered the “bible” of the sport.
They talk Ohio State, Big Ten and the national scene, and they have a good time doing it. Steele’s take on Ohio State, for example, is spot on.
Then Tim runs down author (The Gales of November, New York Times Best Seller) and Michigan football purveyor John U. Bacon. They discuss the latest happenings in the UM athletic department.
Like others, Bacon heavily criticizes the school’s refusal to release some kind of copy of the $11 million internal investigation that, among other things, has led to the removal of athletic director Warde Manuel, but not until the end of the calendar year.
Hahaha. That’s right.
He’s supposed to play a role in the cleanup of the mess he helped create within the department.
Huh?
