Jun. 23—ALEXANDRIA — Hunter Robinson scored off a walk-off error as Alexandria outlasted Salem, 4-3, in American Legion baseball action on Tuesday.

Robinson scored from third base on Jake Doyle’s pop fly and ensuing fielding error in right field. Robinson finished with two hits, while Doyle had Alexandria’s other hit. Casey Haynes added an RBI.

Starter Jayden Kayser struck out four batters, allowed four hits and two earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. Robinson earned the win after he struck out three batters, allowed one hit and one earned run in 1 1/3 innings of relief.

For Salem, Raygen Randall had two hits in four at-bats. Joe Loudenburg, Avery Feterl and Parker Scheier each had a hit. Loudenburg drove in a run. Randall started the first six innings and allowed two hits, three earned runs and struck out two batters.

Parkston 13, Menno/Scotland 8

MENNO — Parkston plated five runs in the top of the seventh inning to secure an American Legion baseball win over Menno/Scotland on Tuesday.

Landon Sudbeck led Parkston with three hits and two RBIs. Payton Albrecht added two hits and one RBI. Kade Bialas, Jon Akre and Logan Heidinger each had a hit. Starter T.J. Schmidt scattered four hits, allowed seven earned runs and struck out two batters in 2 2/3 innings. Bialas earned the win after striking out seven batters, giving up three hits and one earned run in 4 1/3 innings of relief.

For Menno/Scotland, Austin Pillsbury went 2 of 4 and drove in four runs. Kadeyn Ulmer finished 2 of 3, while Ajay Herrboldt drove in two runs. Starter Karson Bierle struck out two batters, gave up six hits and two earned runs in six innings.

Platte-Geddes 14, Wessington Springs 4 (5 innings)

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Landon Schulte and Kelby VanDerWerff combined for nine RBIs in an American Legion baseball win over Wessington Springs on Tuesday.

VanDerWerff finished 3 of 4 and drove in five runs, while Schulte went 2 of 4 and knocked in four runs. Grayson Hanson added two hits, while Myles Kott, Jackson Olsen and Dawson Hoffman each had a hit. Hayes Rabenberg struck out seven batters, allowed four hits, four runs (one earned) and issued four walks to earn the win.

For Wessington Springs, Landon Cleveland and Tyler Kole had two hits apiece. Dylan Schimke posted a hit. Starter Clay Olinger gave up three hits, seven earned runs and struck out one batter in 1 1/3 innings.

Canova 9, Tabor 1

CANOVA — Riley Genzlinger fanned 10 batters in an American Legion baseball win over Tabor on Tuesday.

Genzlinger allowed six hits, allowed one earned run and issued one walk in the complete-game performance.

Genzlinger, Colton Spader and Griffin Clubb had two hits apiece for Canova, which piled on five runs in the fourth inning to pull away from Tabor. Clubb drove in two runs, while Ryder Erickson, Tanner Jacobsen and Kieffer Klinkhammer each had a hit.

For Tabor, Riley Rothschadl finished with two hits. Nolan Carda, Nolan Dvorak, Trent Herrboldt and Dustin Honomichl each had a hit. Carda took the loss after striking out four batters, allowing one hit and one unearned run in the first two innings.
