The Cleveland Browns front office has a number of core players who are candidates for a contract extension in the next year. This is new territory for the organization considering they went years without rostering players good enough to keep around for a second contract..

These decisions will not come easy considering the impact they will have on the direction of the team. The Browns are squarely in a window in which they are expected to be among the NFL’s elite and compete for a Super Bowl. GM Andrew Berry has excelled in his team building so far with the Browns, but now must decide which of his key players he wants to sign to new contracts and if so when and for how much.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield, running back Nick Chubb, cornerback Denzel Ward and guard Wyatt Teller have all been critical to the team’s recent success and are closing in on the end of their existing contracts with the Browns. On Thursday night, I caught up with Managing Editor for The Browns Wire, Jared Mueller and long-time editor Jeff Risdon to break down all the extensions possibilities facing the Browns, Enjoy!
