Warriors assign rookie Moody to G League for more reps originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Moses Moody has been buried on the Warriors’ bench through the first week of the 2021-22 season, and the organization is hoping he will get additional playing time by assigning him to the Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday.
Moody has averaged just 3.3 minutes over the Warriors’ first five games, after being the No. 14 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
As the Warriors aim to return to title contention this season, more experienced players like Gary Payton II, Otto Porter and Andre Iguodala are getting the bulk of the action as bench wings for Golden State.

Santa Cruz has its first preseason game Friday night and will open the G League regular season on Nov. 5.
Moody should see plenty of action, get a chance to develop his basketball IQ in a system that is aligned with head coach Steve Kerr’s, and build up his confidence against lesser competition than he would face in the NBA.
