Former Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was geared up for his second season in the NFL after being drafted by the Denver Broncos No. 15 overall in 2020 and having a relatively slow rookie year.
In the team’s season-opening matchup on the road against the New York Giants, play was stopped in the third quarter after Jeudy was awkwardly tackled, and his knee and ankle appeared to bend laterally.
He was carted off of the field and taken for immediate x-rays and medical attention.
According to Tom Pelissero, Jeudy’s x-rays came back negative, but the star wide receiver was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain, which should sideline him for a few weeks.
No official timetable for his return has been announced.
