It doesn’t sound like Tyreek Hill is leaving the Miami Dolphins anytime soon, despite what Tyreek Hill had to say on the matter three weeks ago.

The All-Pro wide receiver walked back the comments he made at the end of the Dolphins season in a streaming video that surfaced Saturday. After previously saying he was “out” while referring to his Miami tenure in the past tense, Hill chalked his words up to “frustration.”

The video in question, which contains graphic language:

“What y’all had heard at the end of the season was frustration. I’ve been winning my whole life, bruh. Y’all don’t understand, I bust my ass every day, so I deserve to feel like that. I deserve to have some kind of opinion. S***, y’all just want me to say, ‘Oh well, get ’em next year?’ Nah, f*** that. We’ve got to come back. S***, we got to put some pressure on motherf***ers, like hey bruh, y’all got to fix this s***, come on. Add some motherf***ing dogs in this b****. I compete, I love to compete.”

When he made his initial comments, Hill had just completed his third season with the Dolphins, which was decidedly less successful than his first two. After breaking 1,700 receiving yards and reaching the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, Hill posted only 959 yards for a team that went 8-9.

The season ended on a sour note, with a 32-20 loss to the reeling New York Jets in which Hill reportedly refused to return to the game. Here’s what Hill told reporters soon after:

“This is my first time I haven’t been in the playoffs, man. So I just got to do what’s best for me and my family. If that’s here or wherever the case may be, I’m finna open that door for myself. I’m opening the door. I’m out, bro. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day I gotta do what’s best for my career because I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.”

While Hill’s words sounded like a demand for a trade, there were subsequent indications they were indeed frustration. Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said two days later Hill didn’t walk back the comments, but also didn’t ask for a trade, while head coach Mike McDaniel said he spoke with the player about refusing to return to the game.

Later, Hill’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said his client is committed to the Dolphins:

“What you see with Tyreek is very genuine,” Rosenhaus said. “He wants to win. It’s not good enough for him not to make the playoffs. He is very passionate. I think at the end of the day, he is committed to this Dolphins football team.”

Hill is under contract with Miami for the next two seasons, with a cap number of $27.7 million in 2025 and $51.9 million in 2026 per OverTheCap.
