Jun. 5—Ashlyn Giles already owned the records and gold medals. Schuylkill Valley’s senior has added Athlete of the Year in to her list of achievements.
Giles has been named Berks’ top athlete in girls track and field after her unparalleled performance over the past two months.
The senior won the discus and shot put at the Firing Meet and in District 3 and PIAA Class 2A. She set county records and was named All-Berks in both events.
Here’s a list of the rest of the athletes who were recognized on the All-Berks team:
Aliyah Serrano, Conrad Weiser: Berks champion in the 100 and 200. Placed third in the 200 and sixth in the 100 in District 3 Class 3A.
Anna Posh, Twin Valley: Berks champion in the 400 placed ninth in District 3 Class 3A and qualified for states.
Katie Dallas, Wilson: Berks, District 3 Class 3A champion in the 800. Set county record and placed second at PIAA meet.
Caryn Rippey, Wilson: Berks and District 3 champion finished third in PIAA Class 3A in the 1600. Berks champion and district third-place finisher in the 3200.
Abby Searfoss, Schuylkill Valley: Berks champion in the 100 hurdles. Didn’t compete at districts due to injury.
Madi Herb, Wilson: Berks and District 3 Class 3A champion in the 300 hurdles. Placed seventh at the PIAA meet.
Denee Hibbert, Exeter: Berks and District 3 Class 3A champion in the long jump. Berks champion in the triple jump. Placed third at districts and seventh at states.
Carolina Wegman, Exeter: Berks champion in the high jump.
Hannah Cassner, Daniel Boone: Berks, District 3 Class 3A champion in the javelin. Placed fourth at the PIAA meet.
Haylee Edwards, Twin Valley: Berks champion placed fourth in District 3 Class 3A in the pole vault.
Wilson 400 relay: Ednabel Trymbiski, Keira Hoffman, Mia Brown, Catherine Arentz
Wilson 1600 relay: Catherine Arentz, Mia Brown, Katie Dallas, Madi Herb
