Just one day after receiving a crystal ball in favor of the Longhorns, offensive lineman Cameron Williams announced the final three schools left in his recruitment prior to his scheduled commitment date of July 1.
Williams is a four-star offensive tackle in the 2022 recruiting class according to ESPN and he is fresh off of an official visit to Texas on June 25. The Duncanville High School product will be choosing between Texas, Oklahoma and Oregon.
Williams has the college lineman build already, as he currently is listed at 6-foot-5, 360-pounds. He has been a pivotal piece of Duncanville’s success and was named the District 8-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore.
He is an underrated prospect and possesses the skillset to play higher than his projections. If Texas is able to land Williams, he has the potential to develop into a starter under one of the top offensive line coaches in the country in Kyle Flood.
If Williams announces his commitment to the Longhorns on July 1, he would become the 13th member of Texas’ star-filled class of 2022, and the second this week, as the Longhorns gained a commitment from four-star running back Jamarion Miller on Monday. The class currently ranks No. 6 in the nation and No. 1 in the Big 12 according to 247Sports rankings.
