Things have been pretty calm so far at Pittsburgh Steelers training camp. Some of the things that have stood out include how well rookie wide receiver George Pickens has played or how safety Damontae Kazee has played in place of Minkah Fitzpatrick.

But there is something else to consider that it rather puzzling. The Steelers have run seven shots twice so far at practice. But the only quarterbacks who have taken any reps in seven shots so far are Mason Rudolph and Mitch Trubisky. First-round rookie Kenny Pickett has gotten zero snaps.

This is troubling on a couple of fronts. It does make you wonder if Pickett’s struggles at practice has shown the coaches enough they don’t want to see him struggle in the drill in front of fans and the media. Or maybe this quarterback competition really is a two-man race and Pickett isn’t a part of it yet.
