As important it is for the Pittsburgh Steelers to get players on the field and evaluate them in the preseason, you never want to see anyone get hurt. The Hall of Fame game between the Steelers and Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night went off without a hitch for the most part for both teams.

However, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin did note that backup running back Kale Ballage did suffer what Tomline characterized a “lower leg injury” in the game and he would have more information the next time he spoke to the media.

Ballage finished the game with five carries for 19 yards and rumbled in for a four-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Ballage is definitely in the mix to make the final 53-man roster to round out the running back depth chart. Ballage is a bruising back who could be a great short-yardage option for Pittsburgh.
