‘Shark-infested waters’: New goalie Hill shows off incredible mask originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
The Sharks took care of their goaltending situation after acquiring Adin Hill this summer, and he already looks the part.
The 25-year-old took to Twitter to show off his first Sharks mask, and it looks awesome.
It was a family affair, as his little brother and dad teamed up with Friedesigns, a custom goalie mask painter based out of Canada, to create the masterpiece that was based on “shark-infested waters.”
Just by a quick glance through the mentions, it appears Sharks fans are very impressed with the design and Hill’s family “very certainly understood the assignment.”
Hill was acquired from the Arizona Coyotes on July 17 and while he filed for salary arbitration, he and the Sharks came to an agreement prior to the trade, meaning he was able to avoid an arbitration hearing.
Inking Hill was an imperative move for San Jose and the future of the team, who also signed James Reimer to a two-year contract quickly on the first day of free agency.
Hill hit on all the boxes Sharks general manager Doug Wilson was looking for.

“Age, experience, size, a compete side to it, and if you’re going to give up an asset to get a player like that, you want it to be somebody that fits for both now and future,” Wilson told reporters on July 18.
In 19 games last season with Arizona, Hill earned a 9-9-1 record with a .913 save percentage and 2.74 goals against average with two shutouts.
Across his career, Hill has appeared in 49 games, boasting a 19-21-4 record with a .909 save percentage.
