The Georgia Bulldogs‘ current defensive coordinator, Dan Lanning, will be on the move at the conclusion of the 2021 college football season. He has been hired by the Oregon Ducks to replace Mario Cristobal as head coach following the latter’s departure.
While he will call plays for the Bulldogs’ defense in the playoff, he is already assembling a staff that will go with him to the Beaver state. Among the hires, former Alabama defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi is among them.
Lupoi served on Nick Saban’s staff with Lanning in 2015 (although he was with Alabama for five seasons) and will serve as the Ducks’ defensive coordinator starting in 2022.
Lupoi acted as the Crimson Tide’s defensive coordinator for just one season, in 2018, before heading to the NFL to coach defensive linemen for the Cleveland Browns.
Tosh Lupoi, who is currently the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive line coach, is expected to be hired as Oregon’s defensive coordinator at the conclusion of the Jaguars’ season, sources tell @on3sports.

Lupoi is best known for his spectacular recruiting acumen, but Crimson Tide faithful would probably be surprised if his defenses have any success.
