Aug. 24—Berks Catholic grad Ross Pilliod won in a playoff to capture the championship of the Baltimore Life Open at the Bon Air Country Club in York County.

Pilliod, an amateur who is a LedgeRock Golf Club member, and Williamsport Country Club pro Jordan Eck each shot a 2-under 69 in the 18-hole event.

They were the only two players of the 65 who finished the tournament to shoot under par.

Pilliod carried a one-stroke lead into the final hole but scored a bogey on the par-5 18th to fall into a playoff with Eck. Pilliod won on the second hole.

Brothers Nick and Michael Fioravante, also Berks Catholic graduates, each shot a 73 and tied for 10th place.
