Multiple reports have emerged placing Brad Keselowski at Roush Fenway Racing next season to serve as a driver-owner.
The Sports Business Journal, citing unnamed sources, reported that Roush has “informed its partners that it has a done deal” with Keselowski. FOX Sports also confirmed the agreement. This comes a month after an initial report linked Keselowski to Roush with an ownership stake.
Keselowski is in the final year of a tenured and successful partnership with Team Penske. He competed in three Xfinity Series races for Penske in 2009 and joined the team full-time in 2010. He captured the 2012 championship driving the flagship No. 2 entry.
Each report states that Roush has yet to confirm the deal out of deference to Team Penske, who would then need to find a replacement at that organization.
Keselowski has frequently expressed a desire to establish a lasting legacy beyond driving race cars within the business sector. He owns and operates Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing — a state-of-the-art 3-D printing company that assists aerospace, defense, medical and automotive fields.
That business is housed out of the shop that used to contain Brad Keselowski Racing.
