With the start of training camp looming, the Golden State Warriors are doing their homework on different options for their final roster spot for the 2021-22 squad.

Before camp begins, the Warriors are reportedly working out a flurry of free agent guards. Some of the names scheduled to train with the Warriors or to have already completed workouts are Darren Collison, Ryan Arcidiacono, Avery Bradley, Quinn Cook and Isaiah Thomas.

Golden State could have their eyes set on one specific player from their list of workouts. According to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, the Warriors have “sincere interest” in Thomas.

During his 10 season run in the NBA, Thomas has averaged 18.1 points on 43.5% shooting from the field with 4.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game. In the 2020-21 campaign, the 32-year-old played three games with the New Orleans Pelicans, averaging 7.7 points on 33.3% shooting from the field in 16 minutes per game.

Thomas was an All-Star in 2016 and 2017 with Boston, averaging 25.5 points on 44.6% shooting from the field with 6.1 assists and 2.8 rebounds over two seasons.

After earning two straight bids to the NBA All-Star game, injuries caused Thomas to bounce around the association. The Washington Huskies product has spent time with the Sacramento Kings, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets and Washington Wizards.
