Report: Mariners have positive COVID-19 test, low vaccination rate originally appeared on NBC Sports Northwest
The Seattle Mariners reportedly had one person within their traveling party test positive for COVID-19, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
While the number of COVID-19 positives in the clubhouse is unknown, there is concern of a potential outbreak as the Mariners reportedly are one of the least vaccinated teams in MLB.
This news comes only two weeks after the New York Yankees experienced an outbreak of nine cases of vaccinated players and staff testing positive for COVID-19.
Seattle is scheduled to play the San Diego Padres in a series this weekend before facing the Oakland Athletics on Monday, May 24.
