If you are a fan of wagering on the NFL, this is the best time of year to place a futures bet. You can bet on the eventual Super Bowl champion, division odds and of course, win totals.

For the Raiders, their current win total on most sportsbooks is set at 7. Obviously, that is a decrease of one win from last season (8-8) despite the NFL adding an extra game to the schedule in 2021. But is this a bet you should consider making?

In a recent article by Pro Football Focus, they took a look at the best bets available for every team heading into the 2021 season. For the Raiders, they strongly suggested betting the “OVER” on wins due to their strong head coach-quarterback combination.

Here is a quick snippet of their thoughts on Jon Gruden and why the Raiders should win at least eight games this season:

“While (Jon) Gruden has been a bad grocery shopper, he’s been a terrific coach, earning one of the top spots in our play caller rankings over the past few years. This isn’t to say that the Raiders are a playoff team, but they can toy with 0.500 for the third-straight season, putting you over this total.

The site also praised Derek Carr for being one of the better, more consistent quarterbacks in the NFL. And they believe that with an improved defense, this should be a team that wins 8-9 games again this season.

Time will tell if this team will make the playoffs in 2021, but over 7 wins seems like a pretty good bet as we stand here in July.
