Aug. 28—ALBANY — The New London-Spicer volleyball team wound up with a 2-2 record Friday at the Albany Invitational.
The Wildcats beat Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 25-16, 25-15 and Osakis 25-19, 25-18. NLS then lost to Sauk Centre 25-15, 25-22.
Watertown-Mayer then beat the Wildcats 25-15, 27-25, 15-13.
For the entire tournament, Olivia Mages led NLS with 23 kills. Ellary Peterson had seven blocks and Nyla Johnson had 46 set assists. Kendra Gerhardson recorded 29 digs.

Paynesville went 3-1 in the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted Invitational, beating Lester Prairie/Winsted Holy Trinity, host HLWW and Kimball. The Bulldogs fell to Delano 22-25, 25-14, 15-7.
Kylie Tangen managed 41 kills and 22 digs in the four matches for the Bulldogs. Aubrie Spanier had 92 set assists and 10 service aces.
Emma Flanders contributed 26 kills and five service aces for Paynesville and Natalie Riley had 22 kills.
