Sep. 25—UNION GROVE — Due to COVID-19 protocols, the Delavan-Darien football team was forced to forfeit its Southern Lakes Conference game against Union Grove on Friday.
Union Grove found a replacement opponent in Mequon Homestead, and suffered its first loss to the Division 1 Highlanders, 25-6.
Including the forfeit victory over Delavan-Darien, Union Grove is 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the Southern Lakes. The Broncos have clinched a berth in the WIAA state playoffs with three games remaining in the regular season.
Delavan-Darien fell to 2-4 and 1-3.
