The Portland Thorns FC (3-0-2) beat Racing Louisville FC (1-1-2) 3-0 at Providence Park.
Angela Salem, Rocky Rocky Rodriguez, and Lindsey Horan each recorded a goal and an assist.
The win was Portland’s third clean sheet of the season and they finished with a franchise-high 28 shots in the match. Surpassing their 2013 record of 25.
It’s been a hot start for Thorns FC, who are second in the NWSL standings behind the Orlando Pride.
The Thorns lead the league in goals with 11 and are outsourcing their opponents 9-2 on their matches at home.
Their defense has been as good as their offense, as they held their opponent to less than five shots in a match for the second time this season. The team hasn’t allowed more than four shots on goal in all five of their matches this season.
