China lead the medal table at the Tokyo Olympics at the end of day five of the Games.

The nation has 19 gold medals so far, putting them two clear of second-placed hosts Japan.

The United States, meanwhile, trail Japan by three golds.

The Russian Olympic Committee are fourth in the standings with 10 golds – one clear of Australia and four ahead of Great Britain.

On Friday, Team GB claimed gold in the women’s BMX and silver in the men’s, while there were finally rowing medals for Britain – one silver and one bronze. The women’s football team exited the Games in the quarter-finals, however, losing 4-3 to Australia after extra time.
